Amber has a vital role at Code Nation as she manages the apprentices on our Master: Coding course in Manchester and Chester and works closely with our Pledger companies. A firm believer in the value coding skills offer and how they can transform a career, Amber wants to help prepare people for a rapidly-developing world with an ever-increasing dependence on tech.
The fun, relaxed atmosphere at Code Nation that Amber helps to instil in our apprentices is part of the reason that our graduates go on to become such valuable employees. Amber’s strength also lies in her fantastic organisational skills which enables her to build strong relationships with our vast band of apprentices.
An exceptional coder herself, Amber has taught herself Python, HTML, CSS and SQL, and she is currently learning C++, highlighting her commitment to understanding the requirements of our students.
Amber’s experience lies in secondary education, and she has previously worked in Huddersfield as a Computer Science and ICT teacher, covering everything from basics like Microsoft Word all the way through to programming using Python. Her experience isn’t limited to the UK, as Amber spent two years teaching in Oman at an international school.Outside of work, Amber enjoys dancing and has been practising salsa and bachata for eight years. She also loves mixing travel with sport, and in the past has practised paragliding and kayaking in the Maldives. Amber was also an underwater hockey player for the Plymouth Pirates for 12 years.
