Andrew’s got one of the most important jobs of anyone at Code Nation: he’s responsible for filling our classrooms. As Admissions Advisor, he finds and on-boards students from all walks of life to sign up to one of our courses so we can help shape them into the next generation of coding/developer talent.
He compares learning coding to learning a new language, a language that can help solve some of the world’s biggest problems. Over the years, he’s seen the digital economy grow and the demand for people with coding skills increase rapidly. He knows that the time for people to get involved is now.
Andrew loves people and prides himself on his communication skills; they’re key to finding the right fit for our students and our pledgers. He’s delighted to be part of something so important, and is driven by the thought of helping people, businesses and the economy thrive in Industry 4.0.
Before Code Nation, Andrew worked in and around the tech sector, and had even done a bit of coding himself. Most recently, he was Project Director for The Public Purse, a Manchester-based think tank that tackles issues such as poverty, national debt, homelessness, and mental health.
When he’s not in a Code Nation classroom, he’s either out on his mountain bike, on the football pitch, under the sea scuba diving or in the squash court. He can also be found curled up with his long-haired chihuahua Mindy or reading a book on the beach.
