Claire’s focus is organisation and efficiency. She’s tasked with figuring out the best way to achieve Code Nation’s objectives, and making sure everyone’s got what they need to do an ace job. Then she gets out of the way and lets them do it!
A creative problem solver, Claire played various roles before joining us. She started as a dance teacher, then was a PA before moving into Operations Management in the creative digital sector. Working in such varied roles gave her an insight into running a business and allowed her to get comfortable with everything from finance reports and HR processes to IT management and sales strategy.
With an understanding of the digital skills gap and the difficulties a lot of young people face when finding their first job, she sees coding as a way of future-proofing your career; once you’ve ‘learned how to learn it’ you’ll be able to upskill with new tech stacks and stay ahead of the curve. She’s driven by a desire to really make a difference and is proud to work somewhere that provides opportunities for people to learn ‘work-ready’ skills and meet employers.
Claire loves automation, so when she’s not at work she’s geeking out with apps like IFTTT to control the lights and appliances at home, or using Siri and Alexa to organise her life. She’s got a toddler so weekends are spent at the park or making a mess in the kitchen. She also enjoys languages and reading and is currently working her way through the Harry Potter books in French.
