Summary

Reports to:

Delivery Manager

To provide on-going support and guidance to our apprentices and their employers. You will support portfolio building, coach around technical skills (knowledge, skills and behaviours), prepare apprentices for exams and End Point Assessment.  You will monitor and track progress through our e-portfolio system throughout the duration of the apprenticeship and review progress towards milestones, providing developmental feedback and coaching either face to face or virtually to enable the apprentice to successfully achieve all elements of the standard in a timely manner. 

Duties

 

Onboarding 

  • Conduct sessions with prospective employers and apprentices to determine suitability for the programme 
  • Conduct apprentice & employer onboarding sessions to outline the apprenticeship programme and learner journey 

 

Skills Coach 

  • Manage a caseload of learners to successfully guide them through the apprenticeship programme including End Point Assessment 
  • Review progress against set targets with apprentice and manager every three months 
  • Regular coaching sessions (at least once a month) with each apprentice to deliver technical knowledge and skills 
  • Offer support and guidance to both apprentice and employer with regards to the technical requirements of the apprenticeship 
  • Ensure that learner action plans and review processes are completed to a high standard  
  • Build rapport with learners and identify how to support them to perform at their best on the apprenticeship and at work 
  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the course topics you are required to deliver 
  • Update learners’ progress through the use of an e-portfolio system 
  • Deliver Safeguarding, Prevent & British Values awareness coaching to learners and ensure employers have suitable processes in place to support the learner 
  • Support the employer in identifying a suitable project to satisfy the requirements of End Point Assessment 

 

Functional Skills 

  • Ensure all apprentices complete the initial assessment and diagnostics tasks 
  • Support those apprentices needing functional skills to identify areas to work on and set appropriate tasks 
  • Evaluate monthly activity to support apprentices in preparation for exam/s 
  • Deliver revision sessions around English and maths 
  • Discuss mock exam results and set relevant tasks as required 

 

General  

  • Follow quality assurance and compliance procedures to ensure we continue to deliver the best service possible   
  • Support the Delivery Manager with general coaching duties as required 
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and train in new technical subject areas (working toward own continued professional development) 
  • Identify apprentice case studies/quotes/ good news and share with the wider team 
  • Share best practice and support the development of coaching delivery 

Skills (e.g. Qualifications and/or experience)

What we are looking for

  • Assessor award A1 or equivalent or a Teaching qualification PTLLS or above (essential) 
  • Understanding of the Education Inspection Framework (essential) 
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of math skills and able to demonstrate good written skills to successfully undertake the job role (essential) 
  • Minimum 2 years industry experience at level 4 or above (essential) 
  • Apprenticeship assessing/training delivery experience (desirable) 
  • Knowledge and understanding of Awarding Body requirements and preparing apprentices for EPA (desirable) 
  • Full Driving Licence (desirable)
