Mohammed Junaid Ali’s Cybersecurity Journey
“The bootcamp, though just four weeks, was packed with practical learning, real-world insights and supportive mentoring that helped sharpen my skills. It gave me the confidence to build on my existing knowledge and take that leap from student to professional. It wasn’t just about content. It was about mindset, pace, and real accountability.
I left with clarity, motivation and something credible to show for it as I launched my cybersecurity journey.” Mohammed Junaid Ali
Mohammed Junaid Ali’s Cybersecurity Journey
As a driven IT specialist with an entrepreneurial spark, Junaid knew that academic credentials alone wouldn’t cut it in today’s threat landscape. He needed hands-on experience and industry-recognized certifications—and he wanted to hit the ground running as an independent consultant.
“I needed more than theory, I wanted the confidence and portfolio to launch my own firm.” Mohammed Junaid Ali
The Solution: Four Weeks of intense, mentor-led training
Program: Code Nation Cybersecurity Bootcamp (October 2024)
Duration: 4 weeks of intensive, mentor-led sessions
- Hands-On Labs: Live attack-and-defend drills replicated real cyber-incident scenarios, forcing students to think and react like actual security professionals.
- Expert Mentorship: Each participant was paired one-to-one with a seasoned practitioner who provided tailored feedback on tools, methodologies and career planning.
- Capstone Challenge: Students conducted a comprehensive security assessment of a simulated enterprise environment—identifying vulnerabilities, proposing fixes and presenting findings to a mock executive board.
From Capstone to Company Launch
Armed with newfound skills and a polished capstone portfolio, Mohammed founded Cyber Seigen—a consultancy with a clear mission: to help SMEs and non-profits build digital resilience through awareness training, technical audits and managed services.
As Mohammed explained “I took that momentum and launched my own cybersecurity consultancy. Cyber Seigen, a business focused on educating and protecting SMEs through awareness training, technical audits and services to private individuals, businesses, organisations, charities and non-profits. The name reflects our mission: to help businesses build digital resilience and defend themselves from modern threats.”
The difference to me as an aspiring business owner – From Junaid
“One of the pivotal moments in my journey came when I reached out directly to David Muir, the CEO and Managing Partner of Code Nation. Despite his senior position, David made time for me, he listened, offered encouragement, and kept me in the loop for future opportunities. That kind of support from leadership meant a great deal … That belief fuelled my confidence to pursue Cyber Seigen and make a real impact in the industry and community.
Looking back, the bootcamp didn’t just give me new skills, it brought everything together. It helped me build the confidence to go from learner to leader, and from student to business owner. I’m grateful to Code Nation for being a part of that journey.”
