Employer Engagement Lead - SME

Engagement and Marketing Director

Summary

The SME Engagement Lead is responsible for creating, nurturing, and maintaining relationships with SMEs across the country. The focus of engagement is to work with the business to understand all aspects of tech workforce development, skills gaps, and strategic priorities to identify Code Nation products, services and talent which can meet those needs. The role involves account management of existing businesses as well as identifying, engaging, and securing business from new clients.

Duties

  • Develop and maintain strong, trusted relationships with the SME market in defined geographical areas.
  • Research businesses and create an engagement plan.
  • Engage new businesses at senior decision-making level and identify where CN products and services can support tech skills needs e.g., upskilling, reskilling, new talent, redundancies, internal restructures etc.
  • Ability to work with intermediaries / partners to identify and support SME opportunities at volume e.g., FSB, IoD, Chambers, MeetUp groups.
  • Meet monthly apprenticeship sales targets from the SME market.
  • Identify employment opportunities and interviews for our alumni - apprenticeships and direct hires.
  • Create a strong pipeline of client sales activity.
  • Plan and deliver events and other CN profile raising activity to promote our offer to SMEs and secure new business.
  • Attend partner events and meetings to inform businesses about our services.
  • Have an excellent understanding of how apprenticeships and bootcamps can benefit business productivity, CSR plans and talent retention.
  • Work with the marketing manager on a promotional strategy and activities e.g., developing sales campaigns.
  • Provide case studies and other good news stories to the marketing manager to raise the profile of CN activity.
  • Record all aspects of employer engagement and sales on our CRM system.
  • Ensure all client contracts and paperwork are completed accurately, on time and retained in the appropriate systems.
  • Carry out sales forecasts and analysis and present your findings to senior management/the board.
  • Be responsible for your own development, keep abreast of changes in the apprenticeship and business world.
  • Meet monthly sales targets.

Skills & Experience

  1. 3+ years experience in technology related BDM role - apprenticeship sales, recruitment sales or consultancy sales/services.
  2. Understanding of the workforce development needs of the SME market.
  3. Existing SME network.
  4. Experience in exceeding targets in a targeted environment.
  5. Outstanding communication / presentation skills and the ability to influence others.
  6. Exceptional closing skills.
  7. Ability to think strategically and try new approaches.
