Revolutionising technical training

Whether you’re a business that wants to solve your digital skills shortage, or an eager learner looking to revolutionise your tech knowledge – we’re here to help.

Code Nation’s apprenticeship programmes are changing the game and creating a new pool of digital talent, developing from scratch the next generation of technical professionals.

Our approach not only meets, but exceeds, the software developer apprenticeship standard, and it doesn’t stop there. Business-readiness is at the heart of everything we do. During our comprehensive, 15-month programme, we teach apprentices the interpersonal skills, professional know-how and technical expertise they need to become successful employees.

Our Approach

How we do it

Both Software Development and Cyber Security Apprentices are placed with their employers from day one of the programme, and their training begins by putting them through their paces in our immersive, high-impact 12-week training bootcamp.

From week 13 they’ll start work with their employer and receive ongoing support from Code Nation to continue their growth. This approach delivers four core benefits.

Business Readiness

Our apprentices are equipped with the technical and interpersonal skills they’ll need to hit the ground running, without an extensive ‘on-boarding’ phase like a traditional apprenticeship. They are exposed to commercial practices from day one, ensuring they can make meaningful contributions from the moment they start with their employer.

Tailored Learning

Apprentices receive a tailored learning plan for the duration of the course, and are assigned a personal Skills Coach to assist with their progress and development. This offers them a curated experience that’s truly shaped around their needs. Apprentices will also take on an employer-sponsored project in their final 2 weeks, to put into practice the knowledge they have learnt and demonstrate their new skills.

Ongoing support

Apprentices are supported by their Skills Coach after the training bootcamp is complete. Monthly face-to-face catch-ups, contact at any time and three comprehensive workshops help them grow their skills further and complement the training received from the employer. All apprentices will have access to Plural Site for the remaining 12 months of the programme to help them move forward in their technical careers.

The final part of the 15-month programme is becoming certified and gaining a qualification to be proud of.

All Software Development apprentices sit the ‘Microsoft Exam 70-480: Programming with HTML5, JavaScript and CSS3’, the ‘BCS Methodologies’ and ‘BSC Level 4 End Point Assessment’ as part of their qualification. Software Development apprentices are also assessed on their projects throughout the course.

The Cyber Security apprenticeship programme is assessment based, and the qualifications are designed to provide the apprentices with the knowledge and understanding they require for their future roles. This covers Network and Digital Communications Theory, Case Development and Design Good Practice. Cyber Security Apprentices will also sit their ‘BSC Level 4 End Point Assessment’ to conclude their programme.

"This was my second time in the Code Nation's office, however this time I came in as an employed apprentice. The team was very welcoming. Stuart is very dedicated and makes sure that you learn everything you need to, which includes giving lectures on relevant topics and having one-to-one sessions with students in a variety of contexts. They also make sure to provide students and apprentices with the necessary resources. Overall, I can honestly say that I wouldn't be where I am if it was not for Code Nation."

Justas Daugintis

"Code Nation allowed me to transition from having no development or coding skills to being employed as a Junior Software Developer. The learning environment had a great atmosphere and was top notch in terms of helping me acquire the skills I needed to work in the industry. The insight as to what to expect in a technical interview ensured I could secure my first job in the development world."

Mike Johnston

"Took a huge leap of faith from a well-paid career in something I couldn't stand to do something I love. Stuart does everything he can to help you, and Code Nation taught me everything I needed to know to get a job as a Junior Front End Developer, all while having fun along the way."
