Apprenticeships designed to solve the digital skills gap
Our curriculum needs evolve as the sector evolves. Junior Developer skillsets, from a technical perspective, need to evolve too.
When an Apprentice has accepted their offer of employment, their training will begin by completing our 12 coding bootcamp. They’ll complete the core full-stack curriculum in addition to their employers technical requirements.
During their 12 weeks on the bootcamp, apprentices will cover the interpersonal skills, professional know-how and technical expertise they need before they join their employer in the workplace so they can make an immediate impact.
Employers have the ability to tailor the training of their apprentice, meaning they will become familiar with their tech stack, ways of working and current projects whilst they complete the bootcamp. That’s all of their off-the-job training completed upfront.
Apprentices are supported by their Skills Coach after the bootcamp is complete. Monthly face-to-face or virtual catch-ups, contact at any time and three comprehensive workshops help them grow their skills further and complement the training received from their employer. All apprentices have access to Plural Site for the remaining 12 months of the programme too.
“Code Nation have designed and implemented a highly effective curriculum. They work collaboratively with employers to ensure that the content is relevant and logical, developing skills which are in demand locally, regionally and nationally”
Virtual Learning Environments (VLE)
Providing our students and apprentices with an opportunity to study from home is super important – so we’ve combined the best of virtual working with the best of campus life to create an environment that’s professional, collaborative and fun.
We’ve used Moodle Cloud and BigBlueButton to provide remote students with a high quality online learning experience to complement our courses. We also use Slack, Zoom, Teams, Hangout and FaceTime to catch up and hang out.
The VLE means all of our students can be immersed in their classroom learning, have the full bootcamp experience and access the support of the Code Nation team.
Virtual students not only learn to code, they learn to code remotely and that gives them access to a whole new world of opportunities.
We’ve set up our campuses in cities across the UK with rich tech cultures and endless opportunities.
Our custom-built learning environments were designed to reflect the modern working environment – from group working spaces, quiet pods for 1-to-1 catch ups, the latest technology to work on and 100 inch TV screens for presentations and gaming.
Immersive learning is an essential part of our student’s experience, and the best way to prepare someone for work is to act like they’re already there.
Our students and businesses have everything they need to thrive.
Creating employable talent that businesses will love
Pledgers are the businesses who work with us to create their next generation of tech talent. They help us to shape what we teach, ensuring our curriculum is always relevant and students have everything they need to thrive in the working world. Our Pledgers have access to our students before anyone else, and hire them with no recruitment fees.
These are just a few of the businesses who find their future talent at Code Nation
