Our Chester campus is officially open!
The classroom is located at Vivio HQ in Boughton and we gave it the unveiling it deserved on Friday 31st May with a huge party, at which Chester MP Chris Matheson was the guest of honour.
Over a hundred students have already passed through the new site, learning tech skills that will help them build long-term careers. But we’re not done yet – far from it! We’ve got hundreds more students to follow throughout the year as we continue to expand our offering and create the digital workforce of the future.
We’ve chosen to set up in Chester because the area is enjoying significant growth. The success of its University and Colleges is turning Chester into one of the UK’s most significant educational hubs, offering up tremendous opportunities for people to learn new digital skills and businesses to find amazing new tech staff.
Fiercely aware of the benefits of the kind of immersive, high-impact education we offer, and the need to prepare for a future that will require a new type of workforce, Chris Matheson showed his support by officially opening the Chester campus, where he met staff, students and guests.
We’re determined to help Chester’s continued growth, and believe that the figures speak for themselves when it comes to the opportunity studying with us presents. 89% of students who enrol on one of our courses have never experienced coding or cyber security before, and over 90% of our students are now employed after graduating from the bootcamp.
David Muir, Code Nation’s Founder and Chair said: “Through our partners at Vivio, we have been able to secure a great space in the heart of Chester, giving students and employers access to the very best digital skills.
“We are pinpointing key areas for growth throughout the UK and Chester came out on top in a recent IPPR report highlighting key areas of demand for tech outside of London. So, where better to set up our next campus?”
Our CEO Andy Lord added: “We’ve got big plans for Code Nation, and Chester is the perfect location for our next step. There are businesses here looking to expand their workforce, and an army of future techies who just need the right platform to learn their trade.
“It’s been great having Chris Matheson here to open the campus. It really underlines how much he believes in what we’re doing and his understanding of the opportunities available to the workforce of tomorrow.”
